Caaaamp Wilderness in the books! The latest from the SOA Retail Operations Training Team’s legendary Retailer Driving Program (RDP) series… with our Sales Consultants, Brandon and Jay attending back in September.

In 2022, Subaru of America delivered two exciting tours beginning with the WRX & BRZ “Sparring Partners” program which brought Retailers to Salt Lake City, UT and Summit Point, WV to experience the performance vehicles in their natural habitat, the racetrack. Then, two associates from every retailer in the country learned about the first EV – Subaru Solterra – at the “Adventure, Electrified” in Portland, Austin, and Boston. Both programs took advantage of special locations to showcase the unique abilities of these truly awesome Subaru vehicles. Those who attended received a ‘uniquely Subaru’ experience, fostering excitement and expertise that helps set our brand and customer experience apart from the rest through the Love Promise.

“For myself, it was so good to hear other Subaru employee experiences with a new trim level on the Crosstrek,” said Jay. “Seeing it in person for the first time was simply jaw dropping. Driving through trails, over rocks really embodied what our customers enjoy outside of the buying process. Being able to explain the capabilities of the Wilderness lineup made all the difference. It was a pleasure being part of a select group to really drill down why Subaru came out with this trim level. All the added benefits of tie down points, to skid plates underneath. Tread on the outside of the tire to allow grip on the side of rocks or mud. Seeing x-mode do its thing through seemingly impossible terrain. Although a very long drive and a short trip, it was worth it. We drove an Ascent Onyx and that was a training class in itself!”

In the quest to find the ultimate off-road venue, Camp Wilderness brought Jay and Brandon to Nashville, Tennessee for yet another unforgettable experience to discover what’s beyond the boundaries of the map! Campers joined at the home base, the Hilton Nashville Green Hills for an evening of exclusive workshop adventures with Camp Counselors from SOA’s Field Training Teams, dinner, and rest before a morning of off-roading adventure at Bell’s Reserve. This outdoor activities and events property is situated on 565 acres of open fields, hardwood ridges, and scenic bluffs bordered by 20,000 acres of protected wilderness and one mile of the scenic Harpeth River. Bell’s Reserve regularly hosts gatherings of Jeep, Bronco, and 4Runner enthusiasts in the wild west of Nashville. During Camp, they explored the elements that allow these rugged vehicles to take our owners further while enhancing their ability to deliver a ‘uniquely Subaru’ retail experience.
